By this stage I knew one of my strongest skills was free machine stitching, and thought the patterns in eyes could be represented by controlled stitching. I started by looking at Penny Turnbull and Mirelle Gourbins work who both free-stitched, and made 'network' looking pieces.
My interpretation of Penny Turnbulls work. |

On the left- section of eye I photoshopped and sublimation Printed then worked into with free stitch. On the right- freehand free stitch with only traced guidelines |
Dyed fabric- bondaweb with trapped cotton and free stitch |
This project is on going and I plan on dying my own fabric to make a skirt to display numerous panels made up of sublimation printed sections and free machine stitch.
